When you go, allow yourself at least one, if not several, full days and an evening to fully enjoy what Butchart Gardens has to share. I highly recommend the luncheon in the Dining room as well. Even properly tethered and behaved pets are encouraged, water bowls are provided at all the drinking stations.

Sturgeon Fountain, Butchart Gardens - Victoria BC, Canada
The Italian Garden with its Fountain of the Three Sturgeon, cast in Florence. The garden is magical, with spring flowers in colors as lively as party confetti. Just beyond this viewpoint of the fountain lies the entrance to the seaside Japanese Garden, also stunning and alluring in it’s calming, perhaps curative properties.

Once the location of the Butchart’s tennis court, this area is now maintained as a classical Italian Style Garden. The hedge opening provides access to and from the Star Pond area as well as the Japanese Gardens further along the trail. Photographed in May of 2008.
